What makes a house a home? This question has been debated for centuries, and the answers are never the same for any two people. There are so many decisions that are involved in choosing a house. Income, price, area of town, schools, and aesthetics are all logical important and obvious factors, while some driving factors are emotional and psychological, which can be less obvious. While emotions may not be the biggest reason you would choose one house over another, it is certainly just as important. In fact, it is scientifically proven that your environment alters your perception of the world and can greatly affect your overall happiness.
My name is Ashley Mares, and I am your new local real estate agent. My passions include cooking, exercising, and spending time with friends and family. I am a big animal lover, and hope to one day foster animals and volunteer at a wildlife rehabilitation center. I am also attending school for an interior design degree and will be obtaining my certification in home staging in October. My love for life has also made me passionate about what makes a house a home. Not just the four walls that enclose it, but the potential for the life that can be lived within it. When I see a home, I think about how the spaces will be used, as well as the memories that will be created there. I think about the layout not only in a practical sense, but also in an emotional sense. How will this space make you feel? How will it affect your happiness over the years? How will you be able to grow into this house, and what does that look like for you? An agent who not only thinks about the “why” but also about the “what if”.
